For the launch of Galderma’s Restylane Refyne and Defyne, dermal fillers for treatment of laugh lines, MMC engaged Studio B to help bring their media event concept, Before & Laughter, to life for industry influencers at a state-of-the-art skin health center. We needed to design an environment that was “instagrammable” and engaging, while incorporating experiences that provided a closer look at guests’ expressions and uniquely tied back to the products’ key benefits.


Industry influencers were guided through a fun and interactive expression journey featuring four beautifully-designed vignettes. Each vignette included an interactive element that invited guests to #XpresYourself and organically “make” a facial expression.

  • Created and designed each expression vignette:
    • KISS FACE: The Lipstick Lab
    • FROWN FACE: The Perfumery
    • CLOSED SMILE: The Spa
    • BIG SMILE: The Pop Culture Club
  • To complete the elevated experience, Studio B curated the event floral décor and menu complete with beautiful and tasty bites and sweet indulgences.


  • The expression vignettes were a huge success, garnering positive guest feedback and social media content.
  • Integration of interactive elements organically caused guests to make the desired facial expressions.
  • MMC was able to capture each moment and provide a digital and printed photo collage featuring each facial expression, creating more shareable content and further promoting education around Restylane Refyne and Defyne.
